Pensive

Realization

She meditates on the realization of a dream,
and I am quickly tossed in contemplation
as to whether 'tis a dream made real
or some reality flowing into dream --
or whether it makes a difference.

Either way creation is involved --
fueled by a discordance of mind and soul,
a conscious desire to 'have things different',
or a subconscious attempt at balance --
a push of will or draw of spirit, one.

What I know to be true (told by a smallish bird),
is that unless one has a continuous supply
of new thoughts, challenges and courage
readily sought and found and nurtured,
that no dream or reality will long endure.
