Something Fishy At RIversleigh

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

I am very interested to know what le Enchanteur is up to. Not only has she dyed her hair with purple streaks but she is scrubbing sweet potatos to serve with the casserole that is on the menu tonight. It is not like Sibyl to roll up her sleeves and make herself this useful. I am wary because I think she is trying to ingratiate herself with Ebony Wilder to curry some favour so to speak. Will keep you posted.

Potatos have eyes you know and it looks to me like someone is rough blinding those poor little things:

so whats up there with le Enchanteur? What happened when she was out getting those sweet patatos?

And I'm suppose to be on the Riversleigh Watch List

HA!

I love sweet patato. There is more than one variety of Kumara,I found.
As I was growing up we ate the standard one in nz.It is purple on the outside and quite a deep sun shine yellow inside. It is quite sweet. When I started living here I found another.I don't know what the outside looks like as I don't cook much these days.It is a vegetable we eat quite often with our mid day meal.It is bright orange like pumpkin(not my favourite vegetable) It is even sweeter than the sunshine yellow one.I guess it suits my sweet tooth. It is too sweet for some. They are not good for stews as they turn to mush but they still taste great! Susan Preston

I do actually know what a casserole is - just haven't eaten one for a long time. But sweet potatoes and fish -- hmmm, might be a bit *too* exotic for me. ;-)

Sorry Nancy. I misread exotic and put it in my mind that you were not familiar with the term casserole.

Fish and sweet potato could be too exotic for me too. Reminds me of an amazing trip to Japan with my school. I was treated like a Queen and given every exotic dish imaginable. They were testing us I think - to see what we would eat. I had a little of everything and just loved it all.

Lovely to have that memory rise up again.
