Early morning thought

Reverberation

Our body is what we know right now,
though we pay it scant attention,
while playing with flights of fancy
and sad mem'ries beyond mention.

We are vertebrates they say,
though backbone's in scarce supply,
and surely doesn't apply to soul
or spiritual panoply.

I think we are reverberates
that can echo humanity,
for it's the only word I know
that contains sought 'ever be'.
